2022 Dancing With The Stars of the 'Burg Results
People's Choice Award
Mirror Ball Award
Team Chandler and HRCDCC are big winners with Dancing With The Stars of the 'Burg!
It was a record breaking night for the final show to support the Harrisonburg
Rockingham Child Day Care Center at Sunday's (Nov. 13) Dancing With The Stars
of the 'Burg event held before a sellout crowd at JMU's Festival Ballroom.
Seven local celebrities competed in the event and combined to raise over
$188,000 for HRCDCC, a non-profit, United Way supported day care center. The center
provides high-quality, curricular-based child care on a sliding-fee scale to children.
The purpose of the fundraiser is to support the Daycare’s building fund to meet the goal
of being in their forever home by 2023.
Team Chandler of Nielsen Builders and Caroline Clymer received the Children’s
Champion Award, winning the first phase of the competition by receiving more pre-
event votes (in the form of donations to HRCDCC). Team Chelsea of WHSV-TV 3 and
Nick Gardner won the Judges Choice with their lindy hop. Team Tammy of
Rockingham County Public Schools and Adriel Byrd received the most audience
votes the night of the event and won the People’s Choice Award.
Team Chandler was crowned Grand Champion and took home the Mirror Ball Trophy.
Other celebrity dancers included Isaac Goode of Harrisonburg SmileMakers
partnered by Denise Dean Shifflett of USA Dance; Mary Pavlovskaya of F&M Bank
partnered by Don Barstow of USA Dance; Arlene McCain of McCain Whole Health
Care, who performed with USA Dance's Greg Riddle; and Robin Crespo of Valley
