Kevin Chandler

Nielsen Builders

Q: What is your favorite music?

A: I listen to everything, but for dancing it's Michael Jackson, 80's and rock 'n roll.

Q: What is your favorite dance style?

A: Swing

Q: Where are you from? Where did you go to college?

A: I'm from Harrisonburg, VA and I went to Bridgewater College.

Q: What is your occupation? Any other community service you are involved in?

A: I am a Project Engineer for Nielsen and third year coach/manager of the RCBL's Clover Hill Bucks.

Q: Any fun facts about you?

A: I have played baseball my entire life. I was a pitcher at Harrisonburg High School, Bridgewater College and Clover Hill (for 16 years). This summer is my third year as head coach and manager of the Clover Hill Bucks. I attended HRCDCC as a kid, over 30 years ago, and I have been to every single DWTS of the Burg show since it started in 2010.

Q: If there was one thing that we could focus on about you as we promote DWTS, what would that one thing be?

A: I am an alumni of the daycare center.

Q: Why did you decide to participate in DWTS?

A: DWTS of the Burg was my mom's brainchild more than twelve years ago, it was always going to happen.

Q: Anything else you want us to know?

A: Vote for Team Chandler!

Caroline Clymer

USA Dance

Q: What is your favorite music?

A: I enjoy many songs from many genres, but the short list of music that I enjoy would be: jazz, classical, oldies, opera, musicals, and alternative/indie.

Q: What is your favorite dance style and when did you start dancing?

A: My favorite dance styles are Lindy Hop and salsa, though I enjoy learning and dancing to just about anything.  I first started social dancing in 2011, and quickly became very passionate about swing dancing.  It wasn’t until 2018 that I began learning other dance styles, and then the world shut down in 2020, so I am very eager to get back to dancing again.

Q: Where are you from?

A: I grew up here in the Shenandoah Valley, though I’ve recently returned after being away for about 11 years.

Q: What is your occupation? Any other community service you are involved in?

A: I am currently studying to become an SLP while working as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at the Speech and Language Center.  One highlight of my last year was being able to support Team Strength and Honor as a volunteer for World Team's “Face of America” event; a 107-mile bike ride from Arlington, VA to Gettysburg, PA, for both able-bodied and adaptive athletes.

Q: Any fun facts about you?

A: After earning my degree in music and a post-grad certificate in TESOL, I lived in Germany and Cambodia for 6 years.  When I returned to the USA a few years ago, I discovered the intersection of my passions in Speech-Language Pathology.  I love social partner dancing, spending time outdoors, traveling to explore new places, pursuing growth, slowing down to be fully present with kids and puppies or in a good conversation with the people I love, creating and appreciating all kinds of performing and visual arts, and finding delicious allergy-friendly foods to eat.

Q: If there was one thing that we could focus on about you as we promote DWTS, what would that one thing be?

Q: Why did you decide to participate in DWTS?

A: I decided to participate in Dancing with the Stars of the ‘Burg because it has become especially evident over the past couple of years how important child care really is. Lastly, I have played the piano for the Briery Branch Church of the Brethren choir for 27 years and in addition fill in at the New Life Church in Mount Solon.
